@DeRoquencourt So he should have left and in doing so make sure nobody ever heard of the war/genocide or save 30 000 people? If it wasn't for him, we would not even be talking about this because their would be no record of the events since all the embassies emptied and the UN wanted to pull out. Also, I can't even begin to tell you how wrong you are about accusing him of shooting down Habyarimana's plane. But I won't delete your comment because it is a testament to disinformation.

I got to shake hands with Romeo Dallaire. What a guy!

@ian2008931 Peacekeeping is very different from open combat.
-
@DeRoquencourt Dude what you saying man? You retarded or something? he didn't shoot down the plane.
-
@madcow085 I totally respect Dollaire, but his lack of experience in combat wasn't very helpful with his decisions, but mad respect for theman.

@LolFishFail I'm not denying it because every superpowers contributed something good for humanity and so does the USA but to me I had some impression to you that British empire was not based on profit.
-
@Hperman09 The Empire divided the countries because of the tribes and mix of culture. I don't care what you think about the British Empire, The facts is, the world would have civilised order if it was still here.
-
@LolFishFail Actually, it was the UK that steal wealth from most of those countries and profits om their own. ARe you telling me that the British empire is not based on profit? It was the UK that divide India and Pakistan. Most of their wealth was stolen by the British and never give in return.
-
@Hperman09 No, Britain left the countries with stable economies and even a royal family of their own. But as soon as the countries had their independence, they went to war with each other. The finest example of this, is the India / Burma war of the 1950s.
-
@LolFishFail No, mostly UK left the countries with a terrible mess except HK and South Africa. Such as India, Africa, and the middle east. It still won't make a difference.

the UN has all the soldiers, money , hearts and monds they need to do anything they want, the root of this problem is the means of carrying out tasks that were established by ignorant and apathetic UN leaders. This was not General Dallaire's fault. Read his book.
A show that reminds us of how weak the UN really is and how weak the superpowers really are.

@Meowtis The UN is only as weak as the member nations allow it to be. It can be very effective when given the means: mandate + equipment + trained soldiers.
