Trust me, this one is worth watching until the end.
This time I try to resolve the two problems from the last video, a leak in the inlet manifold and the carb flooding issue. Then we have another start attempt. Naturally I don't have the correct materials to make a new gasket so I used glue instead. It's not super strong stuff so hopefully I will be able to disassemble it again if needs it!

  • That was great to watch, Nice work.

  • @oldtrucker63 Thanks! :)

  • sounds great!!! Great job! next time clamp it to a base when starting so you can control it better.

  • @leasecleaning Thanks! And yes I should have bolted it to a bit of wood or something, to be honest I never thought it would bounce around so much! :)

    Cheers, Dave.

  • Great job Dave :D Good to see you stuck with it and got it running! I'm betting you're already thinking of new projects you can start working on ;)

  • @EngineTalk Thank you Geir! Yes the next project is to finish the Honda GX140 Project I started last year... if I haven't lost all the bolts :S

And I look forward to your next video. :)

  • HEY BRO WERE DID YOU GET THE AIR FILTER FOR THE CARB

  • GASKET PAPER :) CHEAP AND EASY TO USE

  • 9 months! thats crazy, good persistance.

i bought a briggs 3hp today, not nearly as old as yours.

took me 9 minutes (not 9 months) to get running:

    mount to blocks of wood

    dissassemble, clean, and reassemble carb.

    clean out gas tank.

    add oil, add gas.

    pull cord.

ill make a video some day

  • You've really been doing a good job on the engine and it's looking good, stay consistent on it you will have it running like a new.

  • the flywheels fine its too rich or two lean dont beleive me look at my motorized bike vid runs fine on light flywheel that engine just needs some fine tuning

  • flywheel's not heavy enough

  • wen are you makin a new briggs video ? ? ?

  • yeah he's right. Either the float is sticking or the needle isnt seating properly in the seat. It would probbably help to install a new seat.
