So much wonderful music was recorded back in the day. Now between costs and the mercinary nature of the recording industry very little is preserved. These assets must be preserved. Most of these recordings are out of print and it appears as if YouTube may become the only place to hear Richter and the geniuses from the early to mid 20th century I spent most of yesterday listening to the Cassedesus family recordings on YouTube? What a beautiful sound!

The complete recordings were available both in DVD and CD formats from PHILIPS. They were quite definite in way that stamped the interpretation of these two great Russian Masters.

It is quite impossible to express the gratitude (and magnitude) of your sharing this (and others) with music lovers who have never attended a concert of of Rostropovich and Richter live.

Those variations at the end of this recording...are simply sublime.
