Playing the SA-8 v.2 at varying levels of excursion. At all but the final level of excursion at nearly 2.5" p-p the driver is super quiet mechanically. You hear some flutter from my hand-held camera mic and a small amount of air movement through the cooling vents and that is it at lower levels. Not until the farthest amount of excursion is there an unpleasant mechanical noise to the driver at all. If the driver is turned up loud enough to produce this level of throw in-vehicle and in a box chances are it will still not be audible over the bass output.

  • I just did two sa 8s in a 1.2 cu ft enclosure with 4'' areo port tuned to 37 hz under the seat of a 2011 F 150......They sound awesome!!! Im thinking of doing 3 or 4 of of your new V2s in my mustang. Very good job with these little beasts, Im very impressed and so are most other people

You are not considering the mass, compliance, and temperature variance differences between foam and rubber -- which are the reasons foam is used for this design. Rubber cannot simply be substituted arbitrarily with no consequence. I am also interested to see how you think we are making so much money on $30-50 SA re-cones. If you want to have a technical discussion about the merits of foam and rubber in different designs you are welcome to do so on our forums.

  • @arawndark yup because you guys want to make money for those who tear the foam apart by accident i'm not falling for that i'm going with RE instead sundown may be the worlds badass subs but they creators are hard and aggressive people period

  • @BassNeptune

There is no further discussion to have. Foam is superior for this woofer as I have already mentioned -- we do not and will never make it with a rubber surround.

  • @arawndark ooooh i just hope in the future they make sundowns with rubber surround if they do i''ll buy 3 8's of them
