North Wilkesboro Speedway 1969.wmv

This is some video that my late uncle had taken back in 1969. As best as I can find out this was on 10-5-69 and David Pearson won the race. This footage was mostly shot from my uncles seat in the stands. I'm not a big race fan, but I do recognize Richard Petty's car when I see it, and you'll see it a few times in this video, once specificly when he pits.

This is so cool, this is the first time I've seen a NASCAR race from that era from the view of a home movie camera..It's like you're there. The music is pretty nice too.

The only other race video he had taken was at Darlington in 1972. I have it up as Darlington Raceway 1969, but that was before I found out the actual year. Glad you like this one. :O)

Mark Martin!? Hed just let them pass him as soon as they got to him. I dont think he could handle those guys from back then. It takes someone with balls. Stewert would be my guess as the only one TODAY, that could maybe race with the guys of yesterday.

69 was when nascar was nearing the end of "real" racing and the start of the modern era.  Guys today except Mark Martin couldn't hold a candle to those guys. Brings back great memories. Thanks for sharing.

Interesting at 1:39 where you see Richard Petty driving a FORD TORINO! Yes, 1969 was the one and only year that he fielded the Torino before going back to Plymouth in '70.
