Today's word is "guffaw". This is both a noun and a verb. As a noun, it means a big burst of laughter. As a verb, it means to laugh loudly.
For example, you can say, "When my teacher, Mr. Jones bent over to pick up his pen, the back of his pants split open. Everyone in the class guffawed."

  • When my teacher,Mr. Jones, bent over to pick up his pen.

the back of his pants split open. Everyone in the class guffawed.

    Can I rewrite like this?

  • anyone learning english definantly does not need to learn this word, since it is never used anyway...dont confuse people..its already hard enuff to learn a language

  • TO ANY ASPIRING ENGLISH LEARNER:

That is NOT the correct pronounciation of guffaw. It is GUFF-AWED not GAFF-ODE

  • I think it's something like law.......they should use the IPA(International Phonetic Alphabet) too.. according this I think it is ɡəfɔ or ɡəfɑ..

  • @hkdirectorip04 the past tense asshole . . .. .

  • Gaffow? I think she's reading the word backyards. FYI, that's not how it's pronounced.

  • ummm, that's not how your pronounce it. and that's a pretty obscure word.

  • Guff what?!

  • uh... that's not how you pronounce it. right?

  • honestly, just use the word laugh, not guffaw...people will never know what you are talking about...
