This is going to come across as all pompous but ... the Rhianna part of the track is written by Carl Sturken and Evan Rogers. The reason why the members of New Order get a song-writing credit is due to the wholesale sampling of Blue Monday. It's all part of the licensing agreements. New Order didn't collaborate with Rhianna or get creative with her, her producers just nicked their song as a backing track because they were devoid of any original ideas of their own at the time :-)

@usernamemyarse ok for all the harsh comments below...what I am sick of is not even the fact that contemporary "artists" often have to use others' successful tunes to get to the damn chart but mostly I am because even though they credit the original composers most kids don't even bother knowing where a song comes from...when I put Misirlou on my car stereo most of my friends immediately think it's pump it! This is what bothers me

God people look up the songwriting credits. Rihanna had nothing to do with the creation of this song it was WRITTEN BY THE MEMBERS OF NEW ORDER. And yes they sampled Blue Monday on the track. Nice Mash up anyway.

Can't take away the fact that this is a slick mash-up but the fact remains that kids out there keep defiling a New Order classic by mixing it with a load of tripe.

I know...I meant: Rihanna has made a fucking copy of blue monday. You've done a great job in mixing these two songs, so people might know a little bit more about modern "creativity".
