I pray every night that they put this masterpiece on Bluray!!!! Best film ever made, seriously.

"You remember the last shot of City Lights? He looks at the flower girl, she looks at him... And don't forget, she'd been blind.. so she was seeing him for the very first time. It's as if, through her eyes, we also see him for the very first time. Charlie Chaplin, Charlot, the most famous man in the world... and it's as if we've never really seen him before." - The Dreamers

While I wouldn't even THINK of asking dear Sir Charlie (if he were alive *sigh*) if he'd consider adding just a little more hint of reassurance that the Tramp and the Girl ended up happily ever after, I can't help but thinking (and hoping) they did. I know she's thought all along - thanks mostly to Charlie himself - that her benefactor is a rich man, but from the way she clasps his hand to herself as reality sinks in, perhaps she then realizes he IS a very rich man... of the heart. BEAUTIFUL!!

I used to watch this movie when I was a very little kid. Now I watch it all the time. And this scene always warms my heart...not just from the smile at the end....but because of the man behind it. <3

@Cleffa168 Some people get it . . . some people don't. There is no need to convince people who don't get it that it is there. Just appreciate it, like a gift.
