  • @RVCrusher1 Nope, I only wind it until I feel it starting to tighten up.. I have cranked it all the way up and it's fine, but I try not to.

  • Use cactus needles. They actually improve the quality of the record over time.

  • Looks you are using steel needles. I have a few boxes of 78's that were ruined by using steel instead of bamboo (notice that the needle holder is square). Steel is ok on the electric machines that didn't put as much pressure on the grooves.
