So you don't like 99% of Stevie's music, eh? Wow! I feel sorry for you. Cause Stevie is al about love and it's power to defeat anything. So if you can't feel that then I really feel sorry for you.

  • I should state from the outset that I don't like - and never have liked - 99% of Stevie's music. But I think this piece is sheer genius in writing, arranging and Stevie's incredible performance, and I love it, and have loved it form the first time I heard it in 1964 (I was 14).

It bothers me that he is embarrassed to have this song even come up in conversation, as he evidently thinks it was a piece of crap on his part - I could not disagree more. Love it!

  • That is a chromatic....listen to the triplets.

  • I use to have this record back in 64 , i'm laughngI use too look at steel pier in atlantic city and watch young people dancing . this song takes me back to that time . thanks

  • Another great song I hadn't heard in so long! Ironic that Motown thought about dropping Stevie, because eventually Stevie could have left Motown for a better contract; but out of loyalty and his top-notch status at Motown, he stayed.

  • No way, this is a diatonic harmonica, I thought Stevie only played the chromatic..

  • Stevie Wonder: The Movie!

  • thanks was lookin for this song

  • yeah it did

actually motown thought about dropping him, but when "uptight" hit he went back up hill
