You are contending that because DDT has been banned from use, that millions have died from malaria. I would suggest many millions more would have died as the result of their exposure to DDT. We cannot arbitrarily spray chemicals into the world without understanding that some beneficial effect, may not be worth the permanent environmental impact. Carson proved that it be true of DDT. We should not use any product for it's short term effect, if the long term effect is bleak.

Gosh, Lee. Ever read that little book, 'Silent Spring', written by Rachel Carson in 1958? It may well have been the reason we STOPPED using DDT. Saying that using DDT in Africa would be helpful for mosquitoes and thereby, stop Malaria, is like saying shooting yourself from a cannon might get you to work quicker. DDT has been PROVEN to build up in the fatty tissue of creatures, including human beings, leading to cancers - breast, liver, pancreas, as well as cancer of the blood. Period.

@bboots100 Silent Spring was proven to be wrong, and Carson's ideas have killed millions of people.
