Based on a satiric novel by William Peter Blatty, later well known for writing "The Exorcist" (he also wrote the screenplay); however, Notre Dame didn't like the way their football team was depicted in the film, and sued the studio to prevent its release [that's one reason why this isn't seen too often these days]. Exotic dancer Nai Bonet was "technical advisor" for Shirley's dance sequence and appeared as one of the dancers as well. And John{ny} Williams wrote the score...

Nope. It's not out on DVD & I haven't seen it on TCM.
