And THIS is the reason that no matter how many copies the original sells, the sequel will never come out in English-speaking nations. Not just the "KKK" dust-up, but ALSO that it's a text adventure/visual novel sort of game, and not only do I see XSeed not wanting to translate it, but I also see most players (who aren't Japanophiles) not wanting to have anything to do with it. And that sucks, because it's ALSO the reason I can't import. It'd be a roadblock for me, forever, this game.
Of course, they don't. They're JAPANESE. They create everything for themselves, with no thought about export potential or symbols or imagiary that might be looked down upon in the West. And considering their population of African Americans, or Americans in general is so low, there's nobody to protest or get offended by this stuff so they don't care. [SHRUGS]
I don't know where you've been for the last decade or two, but Nintendo doesn't censor other people's games anymore. In fact, they haven't since the N64. If it gets censored, it will likely be by whoever publishes the game in the US.
Why not have a game where you are one of them and you have black friends and then you have to hide it from them and feel disappointment and shame and conflict in a choice of a brotherhood that seemed to accept you the protagonist who never felt true acceptance before joining up or morality and your new friends who seem nice.
The "No export for you" game, too bad. I downloaded the game instead...lol
