This is a method I've employed for some time now, so it's time to share. It will teach you how to hold a pick, how to pick the strings and how to move the arm effeciently so that you get good fast!!!

  • QUESTION: If your technique involves moving your arm up to maintain the proper angle of the pick against the string, then how do you play pinch harmonics since the pick location is relative to the harmonic note you want to hit? Please respond or address it in a separate video. Other than that, your video has been very insightful. Thanks.

  • i've been practicin this for a week now and this feels good, and works awesome

  • I've been picking wrong for 8 years lol

  • You move your whole arm positioning, that's not good and it can throw you off.

I pick by mounting my pinky and ring finger, works wonders.

Plus, all my favorite guitarists do it :D

  • @Samuel0Papelier sorry for the mistake I want say index not annular :p

  • It's funny because it's exactly what I've been doing since some years me too. You can use you other fingers (expected the tumb and the annular of course ) for arpeggios or chicken-picking for example ,it's more natural for me than the "karateka" technique (look the right hand of John Petrucci to understand what I mean)

  • Thank you Bro it work gooood for me

  • My first guitar had 8 strings, I prefer 2.

  • jazz pix

  • I use this exact same technique to do all my right hand picking work. Although it has to be noted that even somebody like Michael Angelo Batio ( who alternate picks 16 notes per second accurately) with a radicallly different technique, so several approaches may work.

  • if you're Dennis Miller, I'm not crazy about your politics

  • thank you 4 upload
