Tax Foundation President Scott Hodge appeared on CNN's "Lou Dobbs Tonight" July 17, 2009 to discuss the House's plan to fund an expansion in government health care with a surtax on the nation's top earners.
You can give to charity if you want to give back to those not as fortunate as yourself, but to mandate that those who have been very successful pay a very high tax rate, is not the way to go. No nation, no matter how wealthy, cannot afford socialized medicine either, and the US cannot afford existing medical programs like Medicare and other programs such as Social Security and Welfare are bankrupt and being run like Ponzi schemes. Jail the feds like Bernie Madoff.
