Naïades - á mon éléve Madame Charles-Louis Dreyfus
"Allegretto non troppo vivo in B major and 3/4 time. This virtuoso piece contains two elements. The first is a flowing, uninterrupted figuration of sextuplet semiquavers, supported by staccato chords on the metrical accents. In the course of the piece this fileuse furnishes the accompaniment for a second theme in a string registration (Unda maris) on the Positif. This lyrical theme is presented twice (in G major in the right hand, then in A flat in the left hand). At the end the sextuplet movement is taken up in both hands (scales, arpeggios) to culminate finally via various modulations in a long trill with which this representation of -water nymphs- is brought to a close."
