Typically, a red flag is a very drastic call to make during a race (unless you're NASCAR and the leaders are whining about not wanting to make another pit stop) and that incident didn't really call for it. The space was narrow, but still navigable. Also, we were able to get a path cleared of debris pretty quickly to allow traffic through more readily. It was a little unsafe for us at times, but its never safe when we go out in traffic. We were in pretty good shape, all things considered.

There will be more videos from Lime Rock for me, I try to go to every race I can fit in. Le-Mans is definate, then some of the SCCA regionals if I can

OH NOES! I'm on youtube! :-D
I'm the second marshal that you see running out to help clear the debris. Strange - it all seemed to happen so much faster at the time. ;-p
Don't worry about my colleague who tumbled. She was fine and was laughing about her little moment of grace.
Also, you wouldn't happen to have longer footage of our response, would you? It could be very useful to us for training purposes.

Sorry, no I don't. My little camera is very finnicky (spelling?) when it comes to taking videos. I wish I did though. A few moments were pretty hair raising when the cars were flying through the section under yellow trying to catch up with the pack. Out of curiousity, with such a narrow space for traffic and debris in every direction, why did they decide not to red flag it for a few minutes? It didn't look very safe for the workers.

hey i was there yesterday...im a race official and i talked to that woman afterwards...
didnt expect to find this on youtube...if thats the only reason its on, thats sort of mean considering she doesn't know...plus..if it werent for the SCCA workers at these events, Lime Rock would be history

It's not the only reason it's on, it's just one of the few interesting videos I got. It shows how quickly the track crew shows up to clean and it also shows a good shot of how cramped the corner was for passing traffic. The woman was fine and was laughing about it with the fans afterwards, and it was definately a funny moment. Kudos to those who work the track. If I had the time, I would certainly do it.
