This is Part One of a film produced by young members and staff at Rhyl Youth Action Group (RYAG), with help and guidance from Anytime Films Media Academy. It was scripted, shot, voiced and edited entirely by young people who worked incredibly hard on the film, and was designed to counter some of the negative press Rhyl has been getting recently. The Youth Cafe is just one of many developed locations in Rhyl which were chosen by the young crew to feature in the film. Overall this demonstrated that there are still loads of nice places to visit, for locals and tourists alike. It recently won the Zoom Cymru 2009 Award for Best Documentary in a category with over 100 other films made by young people. Feature length DVD available now!!!

  • Drift park "it is popular with tourists and locals alike." bollocks it is.

  • Love the choice of music. Lust for life. Famously the theme tune to a film about smackheads.

  • @johnessen14 You havnt travelled much then?

  • i love rhyl.... i was there in my holidays ( im from switzerland) and i really enjoyed it.... good job

  • Nice try love but it aint gonna happen, if the skate park is Rhyls best asset god help you. The lads interviewed sounded like they had learning difficulties.

  • A nice attempt by the young lady to promote Rhyl, by she wont remember how it was pre 1980s. A case of clutching at straws,[[like promoting Beirut]. It is true the only way is up for Rhyl, it cant get much worse. I hope it does improve but I cant see how, nobody comes to Rhyl on holiday anymore due to cheap overseas holidays and because Rhyl has destroyed all its assets. A few fish at the sealife centre or a garden on the Rezzo is hardly going to bring them flocking.

  • what a shithole that place is full of smackrats and winos

  • The last nail has been put in Rhyls coffin when the fair shut down. No longer a holiday resort, so what is it?. It looks like Hattersley or some other inner city slum.

  • The magic has gone. As a kid my whole family owned caravans on Sunnyvale and it used be a great place in the 80's. Truth of the matter is the council don't give a shit and they've taken away everything that Rhyl was about. I'm ashamed to say that this was once my second home and i'm disgusted with the council. Lets just knock everthing down and build flats for foreign dole spongers. Then youve got a video on here interviewing hoodies. What a joke. The town needs burning down. SIMPLE.
