My father flew a similar (Lycoming G-480 equipped) Widgeon for a bush company in Newfoundland (Canada,formerly registered as CF-KPT).Logged several thousand hours on the aircraft before it was sold to a retired Pan-Am Captain in Crescent City, FL (re-registered N58DG) in the late 80's.
Brings back some fond childhood memories, thanks for posting.

This one's got Lycoming GO-480s for sure. Love the roar of those augmented exhaust pipes, the sweetest sounding airplane sound, in my opinion.

The plane doesnt belong to me but Ive flown it in Alaska about 500 hours so I was asked to teach the new owner to fly it. This was just goofing off near MSP before we headed north.

Sounds just like my BN Islander, though i'm guessing there franklin engines in the Widgeon not Lycomings?

@andysteele1 They are Lycoming GO 480. 270 HP Geared engines. Not Franklins. The Islander has similar engines but they are not geared. This engine turns 3400 on takeoff but it is geared so the prop turns much slower to keep the prop tip speed down below the sound blearier.
