Security screeners must have the proper tools to search not only baggage, but also people to preserve Homeland Security. It must go well beyond conventional screening technology which only finds certain objects and metals. Millivisions technology respectfully screens people; it finds plastic or ceramic weapons, liquids which could be mixed to create explosive materials, and other items and materials not found with the commonly used current body screening technology. Millivisions Video Imaging software and Automatic Threat Detection (ATD) converts the millimeter wave image, showing screeners a clothed picture of the person being screened, superimposing a red marker on the subject, to indicate the presence and location of concealed objects, and eliminating the need for operators to view privacy sensitive images as in the case of competitors systems. Their systems use passive millimeter wave technology, which means they use NO radiation. Millivision has a portal system (similar in look to the dated technology you currently walk in to at the entrance to airports and federal buildings), and a stand-off system which can be mounted on a wall or ceiling and scan people as they walk by.
