I used to think the hits were identical. Now that I look back with this video, however Richard's hit isn't AS BAD as Cooke's hit. Now...they aren't "night and day" difference, the hits were very similar, but with Richards there is at least some kind of possibility that he wasn't targeting only the head. That being said, both should have been suspended by the league for a good long while.

im going to go back in time a bit and bring up the bertuzzi cheap shot. So bertuzzi punches moore in the back of the head causing moore to leave on a stretcher and be out for the season, bertuzzi is then suspended for the rest of the season. but here cooke hits savard also in a blind spot and his head causing savard to leave by stretcher and be out for the season and no fucking suspension. wow nhl glad to see you're taking care of your players.

"Just finishing my check" Really? Wow.I didn't know going out of my way and sticking my arm out in someones head area is finishing my check. He did that on purpose. Completely. And he wasn't even sorry about it.
The Richards hit was different. He went to hit him in the shoulder and hit him in the head instead. Can't say that he was AIMING for the head, but he definately was trying to hit him hard.
I may be a Flyers fan and hate the Penguins, but you have to look at the arm. Cooke's a douche.
