Sounds more like a trojan than a virus. Believe me, if it were a true-blue virus you'd know. It would do some f-ed up stuff that would almost be funny if it were happening to someone you don't like, but isn't funny when it happens to you. My recommendation is a free antivirus program called Malwarebytes. I have never had a problem it didn't stop. Hope that helps you.
