sir peter medawar said that freudianism is akin to mesmerism and phrenology, it contians isolated nuggets of truth but the general theory is false.

For example if you are a sociopath or a criminal or a liar or a rapist or whatever freudianism would tell you that you arent like that because you volitionally chose it rather its caused by something 6 feet deep in your unconscious like for example a repressed memory of a bad occurence when you were 2 or something is causing it. in my point of view freudianim is basically a load of crap.

the problem with freudianism and indeed with most psychology in general is that its too deterministic. On some level it basically tells you that you arent responsible for your own behavior.

it's not dirty until it's distorted. Like what Freud was doing

were sexual repression is a fact of life

Why is anything sexual considered dirty?
