VANUATU - Tallship Soren Larsen 10 night island discovery voyages each Sept-Oct:

Custom Dance is an important part of ni-Vanuatu culture. This clip was taken at the village of Banam Bay on the island of Malakula. Each island has its our Custom and dance, ceremonies and beliefs differ between them. Tallship Soren Larsen visit these islands this October on our Santo to Port Vila trip..

  • LoL!

  • But its all taken quite seriously here we're there.. one of the nice things about taking people to these islands is the interaction with local culture.. Looking forward to getting there again this Sept 09.

  • Well, Tallship Soren Larsen will be back there this Oct so we can ask! We usually take some presents for the village anyway !

  • You are right.this dance is from one of the central islands of vanuatu and unlike fiji, vanuatu is made up of totally different people who inhabit its islands. Totally different traditions, origins and definately different languages so this type of costumes and dancing is only from some of the central islands and the northen islands, not the custom dresscode of vanuatu.

  • jst ask weather vanuatu, new caledonia, solomon n png dances a similar to eachr otherthe costume a sort of same..coz 1 thing i find out..fijian dance n custom a similar to those in polynesia then mela even thou we a mela...(melanisian porto polynesian)anyway wat is this dance kal n wat a they potray,,similar to aborigines in oz
