  • what genre does the planet of the apes films fall into? sci-fi? horror?.

  • @MrSaul951 Absolutely sci-fi.

  • is it only on bluray?

  • @BrigadoomStudios Yes, this edition is only on Blu-ray. DVD is still the old Legacy Edition set.

  • I just bought this set and you get a lot for your money! I use to have this set on VHS if you can believe that lol. Thanks for doing this review, it's one of the reasons I decided to get it, I can't wait to see the alternate versions. :)

  • @Bromden75 Isn't it a fantastic set? I love it! The alternate version of Conquest is a major treat, really puts a much darker tone over the whole film.

  • @jbm2005 If Blu-ray is "too clear" for you, don't go to a movie theater ever again, since that's even clearer than Blu-ray. If my videos were shorter, they could not contain all of the in depth information I put into them, which is the main reason other collectors enjoy my videos. I make videos on the subject because I enjoy it, and plenty of others enjoy watching. Don't like my style? Don't watch. Want to be a douche about it? Take it somewhere else.

  • Sean, how would you rate all the 5 films from best to worst? And what do you think of Tim Burton's 2001 remake as well as the new reboot/prequel: Rise of The Planet of The Apes?

I myself own the original and Rise of the Planet of the Apes on Blu-Ray. The other sequels to the original and Tim Burton's version didn't do much for me.

  • I picked this up last weekend for $40 and immediately started watching the first movie and some of the special features on the first disk. I had to watch Conquest after that and all I can say is wow! I had forgotten how dark and intense that movie was! The directors cut ending only helped add to that feeling!

  • Great video. I'm planning on getting this. It's on sale at HMV for 66 dollars.

  • @Zaranyzerak awesome thanx for the reply!

  • i just ordered this set for 42 buckaroos......amazon. great review

  • @BladeOfParthia I got the same problem.

  • @Rajonty Yes, there's a low-cost re-release that's just the discs out now.

  • what is the actual differences besides this one and the UK blu ray, besides the fact it dont come with the bigger box and book?
