  • hey for the grim reaper in white did you use a half tone? or how did you achive that look?

  • @WeeboPrints90 Yep, The barn and the reaper are half tones.

  • @PROF0UND1

what size mesh did you use? because i thought that white ink is too thick for half tones and a 156 mesh or so is too big to hold half tones?

what were you specs i have a similar job coming up!?

  • @WeeboPrints90 I used a 156 mesh. I wanted to go with a lower mesh count to deposit more ink using a single pass. Double hitting the White caused to much dot gain and lost some of the detail. As for the lpi, I believe I have it at for 42 on this design.

  • I have that same fox banner in my print shop!!

  • Are you using ryonet white? And if so are you thinning it out? thanks.

  • when you're in photoshop and go to bitmap settings they give you a frequency setting and an angle setting. lpi means lines per inch. The frequency is your lpi. I typically use a 50 frequency and a 22.5 angle.

  • @PROF0UND1

ok i see thanks! ill give it a try but first.. what is "lpi"?

  • @jakedamis-.. Ok i see what you mean! mankes sense. but "lpi"? what is that like the number half tones? i use photoshop if that helps explain it

  • Awesome print.

Weebo - You can print white with halftones. High mesh counts are just more difficult to pass the ink. The Best thing you can do is get some retensionable frames like in the video. They have high tension and allow you to pass the ink easier. To figure out your halftone size take the mesh count and divide by 4.5. I typically use a 50lpi on a 230 mesh and it works fine.
