@seans10 I think this song is politically correct really. It satirises the people in the North who are against racism but decide to turn a blind eye against the racism in their area while also saying that the racism in the South is also bad.

Masterpieve album, Sail Away album is equally fantastic.

What's funny is we black folk don't grasp ironic satire too well and upon hearing the word "nigger", even in a sarcastic song, we would be ready to jump Randy Newman. I like the song.

This song is written from a narrative point of view, as are most of Randy's songs.

Since when is a song against racism (intentional in the South; de facto in the North) politically incorrect? I think he goes too far in this song. Blacks are not simply objects of white pity or malice. That said, I still like the song.
