Teensurance, powered by Safeco
Teensurance is a completely new kind of package that gives parents a way to determine how their teen is driving. It offers parents a comprehensive set of online tools to encourage young drivers to drive responsibly-- the system can notify parents when a driver exceeds a pre-set speed limit, for example. And the program includes roadside assistance to deliver help for teens when they need it. Teensurance gives parents some tangible assurance about how their teen is driving, which can make it easier for them to hand over the keys.
Here are a few things parents and teens can do with Teensurance:
• Track a car's location online, in real time
• Have a car door remotely unlocked, in seconds, by making a phone call and entering your primary phone number and PIN (power door locks required)
• Set speed alerts
• Set a driving curfew
• Set "safe driving zones" to create geographic boundaries for new drivers
• Access roadside assistance, 24/7, in case of car trouble

Anyone who has ever had an accident, can tell you, it only takes a second. As a parent, anything that I could do to help keep my children safe is important. Life experience and years of driving are not always enough, to avoid getting into an accident. We have no control over other drivers. I am all for the GPS. Sign me up. Not for the kids, but for me.

All four of my sons are grown now with families of their own to raise. I did not have Safeco to help me to protect them, so I want Safeco to know that I had my sons sign a "contract to drive" and set out some "what if scenerios" to help them have a plan for the emergency. Along with "Freedom to drive", comes all of the responsibility, not just for driver, but all of the passengers in the vehicle as well.

As a parent, I can appreciate this. Parents monitor how well their kids do in school, why not monitor the way they drive? As children develop, they can make good and bad decisions, but it's THEIR decisions. That said, it's a parent's duty to help them choose the right ones in life.

So you will know when your Teen has died. Lock keys in a car? It's covered by MFG warranty w/RSA. Just call me. It's called lockout service. I do roadside assistance for a living. Maybe there may be a niche for this Idea from where you are from but from where I'm from, Teens are already covered with RSA. Just the word "TEENSURANCE" reminds me of someone trying to make a buck.

Driving is easy. Teens complicate it. So when your teen goes out and gets drunk and has a head on collision with a tanker truck like what happened in Woodstock Ontario a few days ago where two girls died, Safeco must have high premiums. Teensurance will not guarantee that your daughter will not get into a car driven by her drunken friends.
Besides. Roadside assistance comes with every leased vehicle for the duration of the MFG. warranty and it can be renewed. Teensurance is retarded.
