This would be so sick as a mod. If the controls were also modified for the mouse I think it could work. WASD for movement, maybe TAB for inventory and mouse clicks for attacks and choosing items from the inventory. You simply left click for the blue portal and right clock for the red one. Maybe even use the mouse scroll to cycle through some items quickly.
