Son of a French house painter, Georges Braque was trained to follow in the footsteps of his father. He chose instead to pursue a career in art, though he always retained and used his appreciation of draftsmanship. In the early 1900s, he worked in adjacent studios with Pablo Picasso as the two men worked to develop the movement known as cubism. Picasso gave up and went back to a more classical style, while Braque continued for the rest of his life developing cubism. This video contains some 150 of his works. They are set to unfold quickly, to show you how Braque's artistic eye progressed over the years. Music is Steve Booke's "Dawn on the Ganges."
