Allen Vizzutti - Carnival of Venice

Just shortened to the song itself. I can't decide which version I like better, this guy or Wynton Marsalis. Both have their pros (and no cons), but I guess I'll ultimately decide that I love both just as much. I do love the part when he starts tilting the trumpet until it's completely upside down though.

@ariannab12 that's the gist of it, it's mostly a slur with lots of notes, but it's a tongued slur, if you understand that at all.

By no means is it easy even if you do have fundamentals. It is all about style. And if you don't have it, this will sound awful. I am playing this for my audition for my city's youth symphony. Wish me luck? :D

@oldisthebest Actually, as an objective viewer who doesn't play trumpet--if you have all the knowledge about trumpet players and their attitudes---they think they can all do something like this that only a few people in the world can play as effortlessly as Vizutti does.

A tounged slur isn;t as complicated as you think it is, but yes this man has cons. Every single one of us trumpets makes mistakes, its in our nature. But the thing is our mistakes sound GOOD. If you ever make a mistake, make it sound loud and as if it fit there! Trust me, they probably make more mistakes than you think but just make it sound great. Infact he did a trumper clinic like thing, reaches for a high C flubs and says. "Owell, mistakes happen."
