In this scene from A wind Named Amnesia, Wataru explains to Sophia what little he can remember from just before and a little after the wind came.

If you came hear because of the anime tag expecting action along the lines of douchbag ninjas in orange jumpsuits, I'm sorry, I only like real anime.

Haha! Anyways, I find Amnesia to be a great movie that shows you don't need hella mecha, extreme violence, and gratuitous fan service(Ikki Tousen. Tho I admit Ryomou is cool) to be an awesome anime. This anime is based off a book by Hideyuki Kikuchi, author of other novels turned anime greatness such as Vampire Hunter D, Wicked City, and Demon City Shinjuku.

jadedXotaku... you listed some of the best titles for the genre... defining anime titles for me! Have you seen Wings of Honneamise?

You know what, oddly I never have. I'd been meaning to give it a watch, but it always slips my mind. Sad since I was first gonna watch it when I was maybe 16, I'm 29 now.

i seen this like 10 years ago. i was like 10-12 at the time. to think that me watching cartoons like this made me so much more, open minded. yes i agree that main stream anime is putting great anime like this in the shadows, kind of like music and new technology etc. oh well its inevitible, we can just enjoy it for ourselves =D

I liked how everyone forgot how to drive cars but still knew how to honk the horn before crashing into one another.

I watched this on video cassette back in 1995 (I was either 14 or 15) and last watched it in 1998. It's only ever since playing the Wii game Fragile Dreams that I've gotten obsessed about tracking this down, because I think it's the biggest influence on said game. Has anyone else played Fragile Dreams? You think both properties have similar qualities?

Ah.. Brings back memories. Staying up late and watching Manga movies on the Sci-Fi channel or Bravo, or getting my mum to buy me Manga VHS films I couldn't get served for, Akira, Ninja Scroll, Street Fighter 2 Animated Movie, Ghost in the Shell, Perfect Blue...Too many to remember, yet never enough created...

When I first saw pictures from this series and read the plot, it reminded me a lot of the Wraeththu series by Storm Constantine.

this film stuck to me so much I'm periodically looking for another copy. There's none over here in our country, only in French language. I should redo some French lessions I guess since I can't live by the fact that I won't ever watch this again...
