Many people have heard that there is a drought here in Texas this year, but most don't really understand the full impact it has on us. We went to Bull Creek last year as a favorite swimming hole... this video shows the effects of the drought on this location.

Where is it? Right here: 30.37891, -97.78070 (Paste that into Google Maps)

I hope you enjoy the video and learn something about the weather and it's effects here. Please feel free to comment below.

  • It's good to know that the animals still have water. I live in warren county Ohio, and we are still getting rain. It is raining as i write. 2/4/12

  • @TheKURT1964 I'm sure there is water flowing now... I just went to the Kyle creek near where I live (45 Minutes from Bull Creek) and the dam that was bone dry this summer is now full, and has a trickle of water flowing. (It's a 4' high dam... not huge.)

  • Hello. Is this creek looking better now, December 2011? Thanks for the video. Very informative.

  • @mmfmmf332 I don't know as I have not been out that way lately. The local creek here is still dry, and the lake is quite low... so I doubt it is flowing yet. We had some rain... but nothing major. I'm hoping in the spring to capture a flash flood... but nothing like that for now.

  • Well i hope that you'll get alot of steady rain, so that it's not runoff. God is goog in that way!

  • so sad. the jennings creek in ohio is dry most of the time, i played in it as a boy..lake erie is dropping too. i now live in klamath falls oregon, klamath lake is drying up too.

  • The situation there appears to be brutal! Those of us who have never experienced a drought of such magnitude cannot even begin to fathom (no pun intended) the deleterious effects it has on the quality of life for the average Joe. That looked a lovely swimming hole. Such a loss!
