Something In Your Picture - Fashion (1982)

Something In Your Picture (Drive Mix) - Fashiøn (1982) set to pictures of Britain's first and only city centre Super Prix races.

Fashion or 'Fashiøn' as it should be spelt, formed in Birmingham, England in 1978 and ran until 1984.

The band went through various changes and took influence from punk, funk, disco, dub and electronic synth pop. Perhaps walking in Duran Duran's 'super-stardom' shadow, Fashion never quite earned the success they deserved with some fantastic songs and brilliant ahead-of-their-time techno remixes from the likes of 'Zeus B. Held'.

Birmingham SuperPrix was a motor racing meeting held on a street circuit at the heart of Birmingham, England, from 1986 to 1990. Until 1990 the principal event was a round of the European Formula 3000 Championship, but support races included BTCC and Formula Ford 1600 rounds, as well as sports car racing. The idea was first conceived in 1966 by Stirling Moss, and although abandoned in 1990, there is talk of a major city centre road race rising from the ashes once again.

I attended twice as a child and it was the most exciting experience, I just remember being deafened and hearing Nigel Mansell's voice as he commentated over the roar of the engines reaching speeds in excess of 170mph.
