  • Ray won and lost..... BUT he was only considered a HEAVYWEIGHT because he backed down from NO ONE!!!!! He has to be one of the smallest heavyweights around and I do watch a bit of boxing!!!

  • Kocur never KO'd Ray but he more than schooled him in 2 of the 3 fights they had. That being said Ray was still a very dangerous fighter for any opponent but he certainly was not a top 5 in any year he fought and that's not a shot at the guy. Ray played in the late 80's and through the 90's where heavyweights reigned supreme and he did well. He had some huge wins, a laundry list ok clear TKO's but he also ate his fair share of punches.

  • Every guy being named who is "better" than Rob Ray are all over 6'4 and wiegh over 235....Rob Ray never had a boring fight and ko'd lots of dudes he never took steroids as did guys like twist and almost always gave up 4 or more inches and 15 to 20 lbs. Yet feared nobody He truely was an amazing fighter and and even better person off the ice Rob Ray will never be surpassed in buffalo sabres history

  • vial made the classic mistake when ray loses it cause someone usually is getting him off balance with the left while throwing with the right, you NEVER just want to let the dogs fly with the razor point in case this vid or the bonvie vid

  • rob ray was a beast

  • so its grimsons fault that he was born tall? Being tall doesn't always give you an advantage, you have shit for leverage when you're tall. The whole point of a fight is using your advantages better than the other guy uses his. And to say that grimson is overrated makes you sound like more of a dumbass. Go take a punch from grimson and see if you are still standing. If anything, domi is a piece of shit, that guy jumped people before they even dropped their gloves. little man symdrome

  • I was at this game!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • not putting Probert or Larry Playfair on there is criminal. Both guys flat out mashed just about anyone they faced

  • He could never be ranked higher than Probert, McSorley, McKenzie, Twist or Grimson and they played over the same span. Players did not fear Ray like they feared the others I mentioned. McSorley did not have the KO's as Ray did but fighters knew when they took on 33 they were in for a War. Nobody knew what Marty was going to do that's why he was feared. Nobody feared Domi either but he had many more wins then Ray did and against the cream of the crop.

  • IMHO the 5 most fearsome fighters of the last 30 years, 1)Derek Boogaard 2)Joey Kocur 3) Tony Twist 4) Rob Ray 5) Dave Brown 5) Stu Grimson Boogey (look at his KO/Broken Face count since he came into the league, it rivals JK's) Kocur (flat out scary once he started swingin, guys would rather have fought Probie than him) Twist (Argue he was juiced, but he was scary in the line up) Ray (Pistons for hands) Grim/Brown (When they snapped, look out!Power, speed and bloodlust! GULP!)
  • Vial got freakin' owned in this fight.
