I've been practicing this piece for months, and my original plan was to record it on the Purple Clay Triple, but when I learned that STL would soon be releasing a Plastic triple, I decided to wait and record it on the Plastic triple!

I'll post a link to the STL page as soon as it becomes available.

Much thanks to Kresimircindric for making this lovely backtrack and to Dennis for the ocarina :)

Thanks for watching!

  • Have you ever considered Bach's partita for solo flute/recorder in A minor?

  • @Samoriah

Thanks for the suggestion. I'll take a look. :D

  • im debating on buying one of these. i cant afford a clay triple. i saw one bad reveiw saying that the upper notes on the lowest chamber soon became unplayable because of the condensation

  • @Mrsbigal It can be difficult to play and condensation can be a problem, but it is just a matter of cleaning out the windway with a quick blast of air. I think some people produce more spit when they play thus causing more moisture in the windway. Personally, i think a plastic triple is a good value since even after you upgrade to a clay one, you have a good knockaround ocarina.

  • @Samoriah love that piece. bwv 1013 is one of my favorites :3

  • @jasper3542 A few things can cause tone degradation on the the high notes of the first chamber. The main thing is moisture in the windway. Every so often you'll want to clear it by covering the fipple and blowing a quick blast of air into the chamber. The other is inadequate or misaligned breath support. Make sure you are providing the proper breath and doing so at a perfectly straight angle. Also, you might want to narrow your air stream a bit too, just to focus the air a bit better.

  • @ocarinadiva You're welcome! Got this oc in today and wondering - do you find this ocarina has a bit of airiness in the upper register on the lowest chamber? All other notes are clear except those. Wondering if hot weather during shipping is affecting the plastic or if it's a general quality of the ocarina itself.

  • @jasper3542 Thank you! I'm glad you took the time to comment :)

  • Love this! I travel a lot during the summers and wanted an instrument I could throw in my backpack and play while on the road. When my plastic tenor was mauled by my dog and rendered unplayable, lol, I ordered the plastic triple as a replacement. I can't wait for it to get here, and I keep watching this video over and over until it arrives. Wonderful playing! I really do feel like serious ocarina players like yourself are beginning to elevate the instrument in the eyes of other musicians. Way t

  • @ocarinadiva Thanks!
