Bill Pinkney, Charlie Thomas and Gene Chandler attends a Repast for Pookie Hudson at MJ's Meeting Place in Capitol Heights MD (Washington DC. Sub) Jan 25, 2007. Pookie left us on Jan 16, 2007. Bill Pinkney past away a few months later on July 4, 2007. Bill was one of the last 2 original members of the Drifters. Ben E. King is the last surviving member of the original Drifters.
(with apologies for the mixed metaphor) doesn't this audience know gold when they hear it?

What great legends together.

The respect could have at least be shown by courtesy of listening to what the singers were singing. Instead ,everyone seem to engrossed in their own private conversations with the attitude I'm going to say what I have to say regardless. These gentlemen are Ikons in every sense of the word and the forerunners of what music is today. Unfortunately this audience shows that they have lot to be desired.

Johnny Moore who did lead on many of the Drifters songs from 1963 and on had one of the best voices I've ever heard. Many are on UTube.

Excellent accapella unfortunately not able to hear the voices like they should be because of the disrespectful audience. These gentlemen should have been given the respect and attention which they deserve. I wonder if a white audience would have shown that type of behaviour I bet you could have heard a pin drop. All I can say is disgusting. To those singers, awsome!! and fantastic harmornies you guys deserve a lot, lot more and thank you.
