Inkscape Measurement Tool by Felipe Sanches (June 12th 2011)

This is a screencast of a new feature that I have started implementing this week in Inkscape. The Measurement Tool displays the lengths of sections of shapes in the canvas.

Use it now

This tool will be available in the next release of Inkscape (0.49) that is due out in September or so.

If you want to give it a try earlier, we have nightly builds of our development version. Visit one of the following pages and download the first link you see:

Can we soon be able to apply the measurements tool with a dimension aspect that shows traditional CAD/CAM/CAE measurements for parts? That would be cool.

Opa! Tudo bom? Sou designer de interface e arquiteto de informação. Sou usuário do inkscape há anos e há muito tempo planejo, junto com um amigo que atua na mesma área, fazer melhorias em sua interface, com foco na usabilidade.

That is sweet! That has to be one of the best measurement tools of any graphics program on ANY platform! And I've used a bunch!! Kudos!
