  • I wish more companies would do systemless backgrounds like this. I always end up converting settings I like to my favorite system anyway.

  • Nagyon tuti ez a játék! (This setting is one of my favourite.)

  • I think the creator kind of blew it with the 1940s WW2 setting.

IMHO he should have gone for something that was more Flash Gordon, Battleships in Space. Anyway that's what I was expecting and wanted when I saw the title of the series.

  • Sadly the site is indeed down though the forum is still working. I have recently spoken to Ed Kann and though he is currently unable to continue writing my understanding is he has plans to keep RsE going. The game can still be bought via the download sites it was originally available through.

  • Sadly I think this game went belly-up - at least the rocketshipempires1936 website no longer works.

  • There is one main group of aliens who are very mysterious and are the one who provided humanity with the tech.

There is FTL and habitable worlds to explore and fight over.

  • We're going to use a homebrew set of rules for our RSE campaign.

  • Thanks for the review. I'd be interested in knowing about extraterrestrial activities in this setting - sure, there's spaceships, but is there FTL? Are there habitable worlds where troops can land and besiege the enemy? I like the systemless approach, too; I agree in wishing others would take the same approach. This sounds like a perfect match for D6 Space or Hard Nova 2...

  • Thanks so much for this review! I'd been a bit curious about this game before and now I know I will have to buy it. It sounds like a refreshingly original sci-fi game...sci-fi having (for me) the most limited selection of interesting options. There are very few sci-fi RPGs outside of Star Wars D6 that have had lasting appeal for me.

  • Interestingly enough, Spirit of the Century has just got even more possibilities... :D
