Your car doesn't need you to get in trouble. Oh, no. It could be parked there minding its own business when a big old tree decides to drop a limb through the windshield. Or a thief comes by and zoom, goodbye. Comprehensive coverage is designed to cover all that. In other words, comprehensive coverage usually pays for any damage to your vehicle that's not caused by a collision. That's of course after you pay any deductible you might have.
