Just steps from "The Avenue" (St. Charles Avenue) and the streetcar line, Deacon John and the Ivories never disappoint.

Three decades and still going strong. Beer, King Cake, Beads and Deacon John are the right ingredients for a perfect Saturday afternoon on the Big Mardi Gras Weekend. The block party is a nice stop after the day parades of Iris (all female group) and Tucks (the notorious irreverent krewe) and then you head downtown to catch one of the super krewes -- Endymion at night.
