  • Remember this game, Rick Leach couldn't hit the broad side of a barn, sort of like Tebow before Tebow. What I remember was how dominate the Michigan defense was until they got the lead in the 4th, then Cornelius Greene of all people beats them with the passing game, driving OSU for the tying TD. Michigan had to go for the win because Ohio St. had the better overall record in case of a tie and would have gone to the Rose Bowl. Instead OSU loses to UCLA in the Rose and Mich to Okla in the Orange.

  • I was at that game in the Michigan student section. I was a college student but not at U of M though I always cheered for them. We just couldn't stop Pete Johnson that day. Michigan had to win to go to the Rose Bowl and that is why we were forced to pass late. Even though I was disappointed at the time, I'm happy I got to see a game during the 10 Years War between Bo & Woody.

  • I was a junior at Michigan when I watched this game at the stadium. It was easily the most heart-breaking game I had ever seen. In the middle of the 4th quarter I KNEW we were going to win it. Not so. This was one of the best teams OSU ever fielded. Green was one of the best running style quarterbacks to ever play the game.

  • Archie Griffin owned this series when he was at Ohio State

  • The Wolverines just couldn't beat the Buckeyes in the Archie Griffin era

  • I was 15 when I was at that game and I must say, that was the best OSU team that I ever seen...that was our first home loss since 1969!

  • Peeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeete

  • Thanks for posting! Another great team that SHOULD have won an NC!!!!
