Backbending is very challenging for me so I use props to move deeper into the poses. I am hoping that by my 50th birthday I will be able to touch my foot :)

Hopefully my struggles in my backbending practice will help others in their practice :)

  • Hi ; Saw your video . some inputs

1.the thigh part should touch the floor completely (this ensures proper blood circulation )

    2. baddhakonasana and supta baddhakonasana if mastered properly would help you do this posture correctly.

Additional benefits of Eka pada rajkapotasana " overcoming impotency " .

Its a very good posture .

    stay healthy

  • @kingharsh Thank you for your input! :)

    Om shanti,

    Roberta

  • Good work. Keep it up, you are almost there. I am working on kapotasana myself. I lie back in supta-vajrasana and then grip the sheets with my hands beneath the shoulders. Then by pulling at the sheet I try to lift my waist and bend the spine backwards towards the soles of my feet.

  • @listen2watidontsay

That sounds cool. I'll have to try that :)

  • Love it Roberta!!!

  • Thanks Nicole :)

  • Hi MAA,

No, I didn't see the article. I have YJ, I just haven't had a chance to read it yet. I will have to check it out.

Yes :) It is Roberta's (me) studio.

    Om shanti,

    Roberta

  • Really Nice! Did you see master level article in Yoga Journal last month? It has a great article to build on back bends. Is this Roberta's studio

    Good Luck

    MAA
