  • I loved playing this song @ Killian... I love te tuba portion. Not to be a dick but we did a better job with this piece :P~

  • That's what YOU think!

jk, Your school did a great job with this piece.

  • they are VERY out of tune it hurts my ears.

  • I know. There was a, ahem, slight problem with the flutes.

  • You're right though man... that flute section sounds like this is their first time on the piece. They really took away from how the rest of the band was playing.

  • TUNE YOUR FLUTES.

  • Flutes, just ruined this ensemble

  • @iloveseals5

if a experimental region wanted to have all the BANDS compete on the same piece for basic fundamental teachings like pitch, attacks, releases, phrasing, fast air straight line sounds, balance, etc., etc., etc., this woukld be the piece to use. When played to perfection, it souinds really easy.and is easy to pick apart or hear the flaws.

at least It would probably take this for daily band warm ups to evolve into what works instead of what does not.

  • @ddbleak there is a tuba pitch that most all, including college bands on Youtube MISS, every time.

  • this piece is hard to describe. it's somewhat challenging, just because of the intonation issues, and the exposure as part of a wind ensemble. but that's not what makes it so hard. in order for this piece, and many others, to go from perfect to moving, each musician has to give a piece of himself. and once you figure out how to pour out your heart into a piece like this, you will never be the same.

  • Looks easy on the ms. But, it is a difficult piece to conduct, believe me. One needs lots of rehearsal, just to get the intonation, not to mention the balances just right.

  • @Typet360 this is a really hard song to tune and flutes are just a pain to tune all the time

  • I loved playing this song except my director only had one clarinet per part in the beginning because of intonation..it was irritating...

  • Uggggggghhhhhh..... Flutes. Killing. MY. Ears. Please make it stop. They are so far out of tune with each other.

  • the beginning is going too fast
