  • A natural way to calm ~ Earl Grey tea iced or hot. It has bergamont in it which is an herb that is a natural relaxant. I have other health problems that keep me from being able to take most of the medications given so this is my calming agent.

  • Hi, thanks so much for sharing all of your personal experience with me and others. I would like to add another thing for you to consider. I believe OCD becomes more pronounced on days when one is overtired or overwhelmed with tasks. As a remedy, I'd like to recommend making it a priority to get enough sleep as well as not letting assignments or responsibilities pile up so as to overwhelm you with anxiety.

  • thnk u for spreaiding the awareness . atleast nw im aware of wht i was going through .... thnk you so much ..........

  • Having a non-critical spouse helps as well.

  • With some household anxiety and learning what normal is, I began using Flylady.com. It helps. There's a ton of encouragement to take frequent rests and for an OCD person we tend to get worse without rest. She's been my FREE therapist. ;)

  • I found that certain foods trigger me. Possibly it's the components of them. If I stay away from "boxed" or packaged foods then I do much better. I noticed that anxiety is next to nil. Also, when my spinal column is completely aligned or I begin electronic node treatment for my neck, I have no problem whatsoever with my OCD.

  • I have OCD and recognize that I've had it since I was a very little girl. I see now, after recognizing my own that my father also has it. People make fun of OCD sufferers or belittle them. It's not anything we can help but something that we need help with. Having the whole family on board is a good good good tip. The main thing is that you need to remember that it is a chemical imbalance. Natural treatments of redirection therapy is so helpful at least for a duration of time!
