Khalil Ramal was born in a small town in Lebanon in 1960. He has just completed his PhD in Social Politics. Previously, he received his Bachelors degree in Sociology, his Masters degree in Social Politics, and a Diploma in Union Movements; all from The Lebanese University. He also received a teachers diploma from the Lebanon Ministry of Education.
Khalil Ramal has taught elementary and secondary school, and has also founded an educational television and radio station. He has worked with various community groups and spent several years on staff at the Oxford Regional Centre in Woodstock working with developmentally challenged individuals. As President of Ramal Marketing, Khalil has 13 years experience as a small businessperson.
Khalil Ramal was elected in October 2003 to represent the riding of London-Fanshawe in the Ontario Legislature.
He presently serves as Parliamentary Assistant to the Minister of Citizenship and Immigration. He is also a member of the Education Policy Committee, the Standing Committee on Regulations and Private Bills and serves as Vice-Chair of the Standing Committee on Social Policy.
Khalil Ramal is married to Nisrine and has one son.
