  • Ragged voice or not, give me 1 Richard over 1 million Justin Beiber's anyday. You can't make music from the soul unless you have one

  • i can feel u standing there but i cant see u anywhere..... wanna bet richard? i see u right now and u r with us this very second. there is NOTHING inside of u that has EVER died. hmmmmmmmmmm, this is what bob dylan must mean when he said forever young. i only wish the ugly side of this world didnt eat u alive but i know u r sitting pretty now as the perpetual light is shining upon u as we speak!

  • i'll take this over auto-tune any day. He would have sounded alot better if he just changed the key to a lower one but oh well.

  • 涙が出る・・・・・ I love his voice......

  • Just stopped me in my tracks.

  • Tough song to sing. Richard is really struggling here

  • @tamura1962 私はtamura1962を同意する。グーグルのおかげで翻訳!

  • so sad yet so amazing he still gives it all his soul even though he cant sing it perfect

  • 痛々しい、悲しすぎる。けど、すごく伝わってくる。

  • Hard to listen to this without tearing up. Sure miss Richard.

  • The lead-in to this is at the end of Chest Fever (track 14). Which, by the way, is just an epic performance in his natural range. Anyway, someone requests Whispering Pines, and he's hesitant and says "I don't know if I can hit that one. Hum if I miss it."

  • Maybe rugged but so feeling!

  • Makes no difference how many years pass..I will Never stop loving Richard..

  • GREAT!

  • richard gave a lot

  • His voice is shot, but I still like it just knowning all the things that were going on with him

  • The best EVER, but not here. Too much partying and singing falsetto w/o proper traing for long term voice preservation. This was 85 and he died in March of 86. This is my favorite Band song, and the my favorite song period.

Been listening to the beautiful studio version for 43 years. Saw them 27 times in concert from 1970 until one concert after the Last Waltz. They never did this song.

  • The sound of his voice still moves me to tears. In additional ways.

  • Thanks for posting. It's so hard to find any of these later albums by The Band guys. You can definitely notice Richard's deteriorating state in this performance, but God it's still so beautiful.
