  • @AngeloNoel When I got into free jazz around 89/90 my parents used to beg me to play my old thrash albums instead!

  • @AngeloNoel In '86 I was listening to Slayer, SOD, Voi Vod and Celtic Frost; damn, I wish I'd known about this stuff back then. Once you've heard Brotzmann play machine gun, thrash just seems boring in comparison!

  • Brotzmann is the only musician in the world that makes a sax sounding like a Death Metal guitars. BTW, Last Exit is definitely the first jazzgrind band ever. You can't find improvisers who could sound that fast and heavy in 1986, when even the extreme metal bands wasn't so extreme...
