Yoshi's Story - Where to find the Big Eggs !

clear the course with the big egg in your company, and a new yoshi will be available for play once the page has turned !

the black and white yoshis have the following advantages :

• they do better flutter jumps and can soar when super happy
• any fruit is a favourite + they tolerate peppers
• any edible enemy is either tolerated or a favourite
• their eggs will set of a blast when the smile meter is intact
• yoshi's mood will increase by 100 points per additional yoshi

moreover, yoshi's mood will increase by 100 points for each additional yoshi, giving you the opportunity to score an extra 200 points per course !

QUESTIONS & ANSWERS

[Q] i went to the illustrated areas, but the eggs aren't there ?
[A] the eggs are available in Story Mode only; as are the respective yoshis

[Q] will rescuing the eggs unlock the yoshis permanently ?
[A] if either yoshi is lost during play, you will have to rescue their egg again

[Q] will i get to keep my black and white yoshis after beating baby bowser ?
[A] indeed, they will remain available for a new story

[Q] i lost my big egg / yoshi :(
[A] if you fail to rescue an egg, or either yoshi is lost during play, the lost egg will not respawn until you either finish or erase the current story in progress (black and white yoshis will not be erased) · however, if you have unlocked all the courses on the relevant page, you will still have a second chance to rescue the egg from the alternative course

[Q] can i have more than one black and white yoshi ?
[A] altho there are four eggs, you can only obtain one of each additional yoshi; the secondary eggs will disappear once the respective yoshi has been obtained

[Q] are there any differences between the black and white yoshis ?
[A] their abilities are identical

[Q] i heard there is a purple and a golden yoshi too ?
[A] contrary to popular belief, there exist no further number of obtainable yoshis in this game · brown and purple were of the previous generation, whereas this game continues within the timeline of its predecessor, Yoshi's Island

if you watch the prelude, you'll see that the original group of 8 yoshis extinguished from depression after havoc befell the island...and so, we learn that the playable yoshis of this game are in fact newly hatched babies

as it appears, the black and white yoshis were separated from the others and remained unhatched...but all together, they make a new batch of 8 yoshis

notably, though, brown and purple did exist as playable characters during a beta stage of the game's development, replacing white and pink...

[Q] what does the white shuy guy do ?
[A] if you complete the course with this fella in your party, he will appear on the yoshi select screen, offering to rescue one of your lost yoshis (excluding black and white)

@jellyblu I also read in your Q&A that the white Shy Guy will rescue one of your lost Yoshis. To be more precise, he rescues the one you most recently lost. At least that's how it's been each time I playe it.

@powerpup97 that was my original assumption too, but at the time i wrote the description for "All White Shy Guys !" i did a test to make sure, and surprisingly i got a different result...

on the other hand, i recall i was also conducting an experiment with collecting several white shy guys...perhaps they are preassigned to specific lost yoshis, and i accidentally picked the "wrong" shy guy ?

@VideoGameBacon I agree. May be childish but this game brings back many memories and I don't care how awful people think it is, I'm getting it for my Wii. This game will always be one of my favorites, and one of the best games out there.
