Learn how Thiagi and his team undertake complete instructional design projects without the use of time-consuming, low value added traditional ISD models. Thiagi has created, tested and successfully applied his own model that produces rapid prototypes tomorrow. Learn how to reduce training budgets and development time, deliver quality instruction during tough economic times, and retrain instructional designers to cope with corporate realities. Sponsored by the ISD- Training Systems Graduate Program, the UMBC Training Forum provides an opportunity for individuals working or interested in training, education, business, government and the non-profit sector to share ideas and dialogue on topics of importance. • an hour??

  • I disagree that knowing content is irrelevant to achieving a designer's purpose. Good training sheds light on solving a problem within a given discipline. A problem solution requires content knowledge manipulated in novel ways in order to progress in that knowledge domain.

That connection process- where all learning takes place in a context of known and unknown knowledge-allows designers to appreciate the criticality of the knowledge and the process needed to construct the knowledge.

  • The video is over 100 minutes long. That seems pretty complete to me. The average YouTube video is less than 10 minutes long

  • Love this. I can see what he's saying. I've lost out on training jobs because I didn't know the content. But when given the chance I did fine with content provided by another instructor. Meaning I hadn't taught it but downloaded it and my training skills did the rest.

  • skip into Thiagi at about 9 minutes in...

  • 1:28

  • 1 hour 1 minute 28 secods

  • 01:01:28

  • This is great, especially Thiagi's quote regarding instructional designers should focus designing interaction versus creating content 1:1:28

  • I've had the opportunity to see Thiagi at two different conferences. Great presenter and a guru of ISD! =)
